What is TAONote?

TAONote is a think-support application based on the dualistic theory, Taoism's fundamental principle of the universe. In order to translate this idea into a form of a software, we created one theme entry box and interrelating two fields which allow a user to write in their thoughts. TAONote adopts and develops the linear alignment structure just like outline processor providing two topics at the most. In a spirit of Taoism, any phenomenon can be associated with one ultimate principle. TAONote will develop the two fields associated with an individual theme, contrasting them in any way you want. TAO proves its worth in pinpointing a problem and finding solutions. And more, you are free to develop your ideas in the most effective way you can imagine.

Features of TAONote

Quick jump from one directory to another. The field name set of each note can be modified as user's preferences. Private function protects the security of a category. Schema Mode will enable you to grasp perspective of your thinking at a glance. Outline Mode has a horizontal scroll bar for better view of the lower levels of the directory tree. Each category contents can be transmitted by infrared data communication (Beam). Very responsive icons. Undo function can restore the deleted note. (One time only) Jogdial-compatible

For TAONote functions and screen description

Screen description Inception mode Creates new note. TAO mode allows user to enter texts. Outline mode Outline processor type browsing mode. Schema mode Helps user to grasp perspectives of the note and the relations between fields. Basis operation Field 1 tag Tap it and you will jump to the lower level of the directory tree of "Field 1". Theme tag Tap it and you will jump to the upper level of the directory tree. Field 2 tag Tap it and you will jump to the lower level of the directory tree of "Field 2". Clock Shows the current time. Tap it and will show the date. Schema button Move to Schema Mode. Outline button Move to Outline Mode. Inception button Move to Inception Mode. Entry mode switch button Changes the size of the entry field. Time entry button Inserts the current time in the entry field. Beam button Allows infrared data transmission. Trash button Deletes notes. Font size switch button Changes font size. Lock button Inhibits writing in a specific note in the Inception Mode.

Other operation

The field name set of each note     Choose [option]-[Tag option] and modify the tag names.     *A frequently used tag name set can be defined as default.       Choose [option]-[Preferences] and modify.       Private function protects the security of a category     Independent category for security management is provided ([Secret] in default). User can manage the security of group of notes by simply moving them to this category. The Private function for each note is also available.           *Private setting for each note     @ Tap [Menu] - [Option] - [SetPrivate] while opening the note.           *Name editing of the [Secret] category       [Secret] is a permanent category provided with TAONote and users cannot modify the name by the usual [Edit Categories] function. Choose [Menu]-[Security] and edit the name.

The Concept of Theme and two related Fields

In TAONote, "Theme" is positioned in the middle and the user will develop his thoughts by writing in the above and below Fields. The conclusion drawn from the Theme may become another "Theme".         Conclusion 1-1 (Theme) Conclusion 1 (Theme)   Conclusion 1-2 (Theme) Theme       Conclusion 2-1 (Theme) Conclusion 2 (Theme)     Conclusion 2-2 (Theme)   The progress of the dialogue with TAONote will develop depending on the user's preference to contrast/interpret the above and below Fields.       For example:   You can choose one of the Fields drawn from each Theme and that eventually will lead you to the best solution.       Conclusion 1 Theme   Conclusion 2               You may consider both Fields as new themes derived from the original Theme.       Theme 1 Theme   Theme 2               On the contrary, Theme may be the ideal state which can be achieved through accomplishing the two Fields.       field 1 Theme   field 2               You can also set a problem as Theme. Two Fields are interrelating and considered as possible solutions.       Theme 1 Theme   Theme 2       Theme 1 Theme Theme 2               Of course there is no obligation to fill in both Fields.       Theme Theme Theme             Choose the best style that suits your thinking - this system interacts with your brain! No more stereotype. Make the most of TAONote as you wish.

When to use TAONote

Your project is stuck.     The ideal result is set as the Theme. Think what you need and what you lack to achieve it. TAO will link interrelating factors and lead you to the best move for NOW.       Your task is product development. You feel something insufficient in your project.     Marketing? Technology? Design? TAO will help you look at the Theme from multiple viewpoints.       You have a plan which needs a bit of sort-out. TAO will do it for you.       You must make an executive decision. Cautions when installing

When installing the latest version of TAONote to your Palm Platform Install over the existing application. The new TAONote will be installed keeping the present data. You can also install over the registered TAONote. There is no need to renew the registration. If [About TAO Note] screen shows [Unregist] message, you have a limited access to the software. Please refer to the attached file "regist.txt" for details.
